PART FOUR of a long list of New Testament scriptures guaranteeing the believer’s eternal security – collected and with comments by Paul Ellis. So much to be THANKFUL for! Let this living Word of God dwell in you richly! LR
Philippians 1:6 Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. Jesus will finish what he began.
Philippians 3:20 But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ. We are heavenly citizens and will never be deported. See also Eph 2:19.
Philippians 4:19 And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus. This promise includes your need for salvation, overcoming, conquering, continuing, etc.
Colossians 1:12 Giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light. What God has qualified, you can’t unqualify.
Colossians 1:13 He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, (NKJV). And he will never convey you back to darkness. He will never cast you into darkness.
Colossians 1:27 To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
Colossians 2:9-10 For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, and you have been given fullness in Christ, who is the head over every power and authority.
Colossians 2:11-13 In him you were also circumcised, in the putting off of the sinful nature, not with a circumcision done by the hands of men but with the circumcision done by Christ… When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your sinful nature, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins. Christ made you alive and nothing can undo that.
Colossians 3:3 For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. Your life is hidden and secure.
Colossians 3:4 When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. That’s a promise!
Colossians 3:12 Therefore, as God’s chosen people… God chose you and he did not make a mistake.
1 Thessalonians 5:9 For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. God keeps his appointments.
1 Thessalonians 5:10 He died for us so that, whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with him.
1 Thessalonians 5:23-23 May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. The one who calls you is faithful and he will do it. He will do it.
2 Thessalonians 2:13 But we ought always to thank God for you, brothers loved by the Lord, because from the beginning God chose you to be saved through the sanctifying work of the Spirit and through belief in the truth. God chose you.
2 Thessalonians 2:14 He called you to this through our gospel, that you might share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. You have been called by God.
2 Thessalonians 2:16-17 May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word. It’s not a temporary hope, but an eternal hope.
1 Timothy 2:5 For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus. Jesus’ word is the only word that counts. See also Heb 8:6, 9:15, 12:24.
2 Timothy 1:9 God has saved us and called us to a holy life not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. “Has saved” means it’s a done deal and not the result of something you did.
2 Timothy 1:12 I am not ashamed, because I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him for that day. We can trust in God’s awesome ability to guard our lives.
2 Timothy 4:18 The Lord will rescue me from every evil attack and will bring me safely to his heavenly kingdom. To him be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
Titus 1:2 A faith and knowledge resting on the hope of eternal life, which God, who does not lie, promised before the beginning of time. Our hope of eternal life rests on the promises of a God who never lies.
Titus 3:4-7 But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life. The believer is not saved by what he does, but by what Christ has done for him.
