The Only Thing That Really Works

LYRICS & COMMENTARY

LYRICS

The only thing that really works is the finished work of Jesus.
The only thing that really works is what He did for all.
The only thing that really works is Jesus’ Sacrifice
That reversed the curse that came through Adam’s Fall.

The curse of Death from Adam’s sin passed down to you and me. Gen. 3:17
But Jesus took our place, by grace, and bore our every blow. Gal 3:13
He canceled all of mankind’s debt by dying on a Tree, 2 Cor. 5:19
But He won’t force His love on you, so there’s something you must know.

The only thing that really works is the finished work of Jesus.
You must believe He died for you to give you Righteousness.
It’s part of Jesus’ finished work that gives you His new Life John 10:10
That opens up your heart towards Him to share His holiness. 1 Cor. 1:30

The only thing that really works is the finished work of Jesus. John 19:30
Abundant Life He came to give to all of Adam’s Seed.
By grace through faith, Lord, I receive all you have done for me, Eph 2:4-6
By resting in your finished work that meets my every need. John 17:4

Just click on the references above or below to see the revelation in the song documented by the scriptures themselves. If you have and questions or comments, please contact me using the “Contact” page. I like questions about Jesus’ Gospel revealed to Paul. After all, this is the only belief system that actually “works” because it is based on the Reality in Christ. Col. 2:17

Therefore when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And He bowed His head and gave up His spirit. John 19:30

namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their wrongdoings against them, and He has committed to us the word of reconciliation. 2 Corinthians 5:19

But it is due to Him (God) that you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption. 1 Corinthians 1:30

But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our wrongdoings, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus. Ephesians 2:4-6
