Is There An Elephant In YOUR Church? (I hope not – but read on to find out!)
A SUMMARY: This book is written to you if you are a born again Christian but still believe any of these six lies:
1) that you are a sinner saved by grace (despite what Romans 5:19 says about you) or
2) that Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to convict you of all your sins which you think offend and anger God (despite what 2 Corinthians 5:16-21, 1 John 2:2 and Hebrews 8:12 & 10:17 says), or
3) that New Covenant repentance is the process of regularly confessing your sins to God, receiving His forgiveness and modifying your behavior to restore a broken relationship with Him, despite what Hebrews 8:12 and 10:17-18 says or
4) that righteousness and holiness are achieved by “right doing” rather than are received by faith as a free gift from God, through rebirth into Christ Jesus, according to Ephesians 2:8-9 and 1 Corinthians 1:30, or
5) that obtaining or maintaining a right relationship to God is based on your efforts, rather than by grace through faith in Jesus and His finished work of the divine exchange with you, or
6) that you are stuck down here until you die, rather than believing Ephesians 2:6. If you believe any of these lies then you are thinking legalistically instead of according to Jesus’ whole Gospel of lavish grace that He revealed directly to Paul (see Galatians 1:11-12).
Legalism is “Jewish Christianity” which is no gospel at all, according to Galatians 1:7a. It is a mixture of two opposing covenants – the heresy of Galatianism – which Jesus made clear directly to Paul. The New Covenant realities presented in this book are the “mysteries kept hidden but are now disclosed to the saints,” according to Colossians 1:25-26 and Romans 16:25-26, the finished work of Jesus’ divine exchange with all believers. They reveal the true purpose of the Mosaic Law (which was never given to non-Jews), why Jesus fulfilled it and nailed it to the cross (for believing Jews), and then gave all believers the higher Law of the Spirit of life – faith, love and liberty in Christ Jesus, according to Romans 8:1-2 and Galatians 5:1-6.
This book gives the history of when, where, why and how Jesus’ whole Gospel – given to Paul – has been trampled on by the elephant of Galatianism – the heresy of mixing law with grace. This mixture dominated the infant church in Jerusalem and has been causing division and defeat in and among believers ever since. But “It was for freedom that Christ Jesus has set us free. So stand firm believer in Jesus’ whole Gospel of grace and do not let the burden of legalism enslave you any longer” (see Galatians 5:1 and Acts 15:9-11).
Whom the Son (Jesus) set free is free indeed – unless you have fallen by going back under law. Again, if you believe any of the six lies listed above then this book is written to you! “For where sin abounds, God’s grace super-abounds” for all those who live according to the Spirit of life rather than under the Mosaic law – which arouses sin and causes death (see Romans 7:5 & 8:1-2, 2 Corinthians 3:6-9, 1 Corinthians 15:56 and Romans 4:15).
My friend, your personal relationship with Father-God and your degree of victory on earth as a Christian depends on 1) how accurate is your concept of God and 2) on agreeing with His concept of you as a new creation saint, Father-God’s beloved child. You will enjoy the enlightening journey this book takes you on by discovering Father-God’s lavish love and favor towards you. None of this is based on your achievements but on knowing about, believing and resting in Jesus’ finished work for you on Calvary and beyond, according to Jesus’ whole Gospel of His grace, just as He revealed it to Paul. So, enjoy the ride into freedom that this book offers!

What does grace really mean? Look no further for an in depth, thorough teaching.
Are you a Christian living under the mixed message of the law, while attempting to fully embrace grace? Or are you truly living in the freedom of God’s full, radical gospel of grace displayed through Christ’s radical love? You will be surprised by mixed messages you may still be believing, as Lenny J. Ransil addresses in depth the common misunderstandings within Christianity and the church, throughout history, through the lens of the whole gospel of grace that Jesus revealed to Paul.
I found most interesting and refreshing the distinguished concepts within pre-cross versus post-cross teachings, not just Old Testament/New Testament, which are pivotal to understanding scripture and grace more completely.
Ultimately, Ransil portrays a beautiful and accurate picture of God the Father, and Jesus as the exact representation of the Father, as well as our transformation into His image by the Spirit (2 Cor. 3:18). Consequently, we cannot simply choose to follow Jesus and have a poor or distant perception of God the Father. His plan through Christ was to transform us from glory to glory so that we could have intimacy with Him right here and now.
I particularly like this statement, “At first glance, the focus of the four gospels seems to be on what Jesus said and did. But actually He was acting as an ambassador of His wonderful Father, demonstrating how loving, merciful, powerful, forgiving, gracious, committed, faithful, friendly, empathetic etc. Father-God has always been because He is love by nature.” Even Jesus’ death on the cross was out of love and obedience to God the Father. It was His love that sent His Son. It was His love that came down.
If you want to dig deeper and wrestle with your own assumptions and learnings about God, God’s love and what grace really means, this is just the book for you!

5.0 out of 5 stars The icing on the grace cake

I have been privileged to buy and read several books on the gospel of grace and the finished work of Christ by great authors such as Andrew Wommack, Joseph Prince, Paul Ellis, and D.R Silva. This book is the icing on the cake. It answers a lot of questions and completes the grace message puzzle with profound pieces. Highly balanced and well researched with historical facts on how the mixture of law with grace crept into the church.
This book … shows how to rightly divide the word of truth in the light of the New Covenant and explains scriptures that seem to contradict the whole gospel of radical grace.
The truth contained in this book is life transforming. I highly recommend this treasure to everyone that seeks to know the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ, and especially to pastors and teachers of God’s word.

Thank-you Theresa and Ugochukwu for your kind and insightful reviews – two of ten who gave the book five stars so far. They both captured the heart of what caused me to ask the Holy Spirit in the spring of 2010, “Why is the church still so legalistic after almost 2000 years.” (Such a question would never have dawned on me until I had my own “spring” awakening to Jesus’ Grace Gospel in 1992.) So I sensed He wanted me to investigate to find the answer to this puzzling question. What I discovered over the 5+ years of research, teaching and writing was as shocking yet refreshing to me as it is to most Christians who delve into the reality of Father-God’s New Covenant promises and blessings in order to experience Jesus’ abundant life that He paid for on Calvary.
