How Did Jesus accomplish All That For Us?
Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: ‘cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree.’ He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that, by faith, we might receive the promise of the Spirit, (Galatians 3:13).
For He (Jesus) is our peace who has made the two (Jews and Gentiles) one, having destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, by abolishing in His flesh, the Law with its (Ten) commandments and regulations. (Ephesians 2:14-15)
Released From The Mosaic Law
For if a law had been given that could impart life, then righteousness would certainly have come by the Law. But the Scripture declares that the whole world is a prisoner of sin (in Adam), so that what was promised, being given through faith in Jesus Christ, might be given to those who believe” (instead of by obedience to the Law). (Galatians 3:21-22)
Before this (gift of) faith came, we were held prisoners by the Law, locked up until faith should be revealed. So the Law was put in charge to lead us to Christ that we might be justified by faith. Now that faith has come, we are no longer under the supervision of the law. (Galatians 3:23)
Now we are to be under the supervision of the Holy Spirit if the Spirit lives in you… (Romans 8:9)
But now, by dying to what once bound us (the in Adam nature), we have been released from the law so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit, and not in the old way of the written code (the Law). (Romans 7:6)
For in Jesus Christ, neither circumcision nor uncircumcision (a basic requirement of the Mosaic Law) has any value, but faith shown by love, (Galatians 5:6).
And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, having cancelled the written code (The Big Ten) with its regulation that was against us and stood opposed to us. He took it away, nailing it to the cross (and thereby), disarmed the principalities (who use the law as a club of condemnation)… (Colossians 2:13-14)
He (Jesus) has made us able ministers of the New Covenant – not of the letter (of the Law) but of the Spirit. For the letter kills but the Spirit gives life.
(2 Corinthians 3:6)
…because through Christ Jesus the “law” of the Spirit of life set me free from the (Mosaic) Law (that causes) sin and death. (Romans 8:2)
How Did All This Happen To Me?
Through the law I died to the law so that I might live for God (an unseen transaction). (Galatians 2:19)
I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing. (Galatians 2:20-21)
