Who Do You Think You Are? – Part 3

Identity theft has become a major concern in this world of fallen humans. But in the spiritual realm, the devil tricked Adam out of his physical and spiritual inheritance that would have been permanent if he would have eaten of the Tree of Life (Jesus) rather than from the Tree of Death – through becoming Evil by his rebellion to God’s warning. But through Jesus Christ, God offered a new option to eternal damnation. That option is the gift of a New Identity in Christ Jesus who made this possible by faith in what He did for mankind. Simply put:

Born once, die twice – by remaining “in Adam.”

Born twice, die once – by being reborn of God and, therefore, being “in Christ.”

How? See Romans 10:9-13 for how to be reborn of God.

If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. (2 Cor 5:17)

Once reborn, your spiritual future in Christ is eternally secure – as documented by 130 scriptures in  many Posts in December 2021 – and in the last Post. But what about experiencing Jesus’ inheritance and victory in daily life in this Seen realm – as a New Creation in Christ? That too is made possible because Jesus sends His Holy Spirit INTO every reborn believer so all believers can choose to learn how to think and walk according to the Holy Spirit – like Jesus learned to do during His life on earth.

So, renewing your mind to see yourself as Father-God does – as His holy, righteous and beloved child – requires some New Covenant “repentance.” Under the Mosaic Covenant, “repentance” meant asking for and receiving God’s forgiveness of one’s sins through sacrifices etc. But now that God has forgiven and is not mindful of all our past, present and future sins through Jesus, “repentance” now means learning to think like God thinks about everything – a “change of mind.”

This “mental makeover” is especially needed in how we view God, our new Father, and our own New, re-created spirit-self in Christ. This needed renewal is the work of the Holy Spirit who wants you to feed on the Bible’s New Covenant revelations of who you now are – your New Identity – because you belong to God now instead of the devil. So here is a list that Paul Ellis assembled to help you “transform you mind by the washing of the living Word of God.”  Remember: you don’t have to but you get to catch up with how Father-God sees and relates to the real you!  Bathe you mind by daily speaking out these truths to yourself to experience the abundant life Jesus offers daily to each of His New Creation Saints.  LR

I’m sure you’ve read this verse many times, but have you ever thought about what it means to be new?

You are not merely improved, modified, tweaked, re-conditioned, re-upholstered, or re-branded. You are wholly new.

You are a brand new creature, something that you never were before. Now that you’re new, do you know who you are?

Below are 50 things you need to know about your new God-given identity. Read these words aloud, with conviction, and I guarantee you it will leave you feeling encouraged, ready to dance… and new! (See references below.)

I Am

I am a saint, a trophy of Christ’s victory

I am born again of imperishable seed
I am a new creation, complete in Christ and perfect forever

I am a child of God, the apple of my Father’s eye
I am one with the Lord and the temple of the Holy Spirit

I am eternally redeemed and completely forgiven
I am seated with Christ in heavenly realms
I am summoned by name and I am his

I am dead to sin and alive to God
I am free from guilt and condemnation
I am righteous, holy and blameless!
I am healed and I am strong in the Lord

I am hidden in Christ and eternally secure
I am loved with an everlasting love and I am highly favored

I am my Beloved’s and he is mine

Selah

I am the head and not the tail
I am blessed with every spiritual blessing and I am a joint heir with Christ

I am a competent minister of the new covenant
I am bona fide and qualified, chosen and anointed
I am his royal ambassador, a missionary to the world

I am a stranger on earth, a citizen of a city whose maker is God
I am not looking back but I am pressing on to know him more

I am trusting that he will finish in me that which he started

I am a king and a priest; a carrier of the Lord’s authority
I am a healer of the sick and a demon’s worst nightmare
I am king o’ the world because his victory is mine!

I am as bold as a lion and more than a conqueror
I am a towering testimony of the Spirit’s power

I am the salt of the earth and the light of the world
I am the sweet smell of Jesus to those who are perishing

I am a tree planted by the water, and I am a fruitful branch
I am the disciple whom Jesus loves

And by the grace of God I am what I am
