CHAPTER TWELVE – E. C. T.

Renewing My Mind with the Revelation of Father-God’s Total Forgiveness of All of Mankind’s Sins

Dear Father, I cherish the riches of Your kindness and Your forbearance and longsuffering towards me, knowing that Your kindness leads me to New Covenant repentance.[i] I now know and gratefully confess that You have totally forgiven me and the whole world of all sin – past, present and future sins – and reconciled the whole world to yourself (from Your viewpoint) and have made me the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus because I have been reconciled to You through rebirth.

I acknowledge that any and all sinful attitudes, motives, words and actions are not worthy of the new me as one of Your elect, holy and dearly loved children[ii] and a partaker of Your divine nature.[iii] I know that I fall short of Your perfection in my outer man and I depend on You, Holy Spirit, to continuously renew my mind to think and walk in Your ways. Thank-you for convincing me of being righteous in Christ Jesus, despite the ways that I fall short of your perfection in my soul and body.[iv]

By faith in Your finished work of complete forgiveness of all my sins and being reconciled to you, I thank You for cleansing me from all unrighteousness[v] through the blood of Jesus, my High Priest, Advocate[vi] and Intercessor.[vii] By the power of the Holy Spirit, I refuse any remaining influence of the old me that was crucified with Christ (thereby making that slave of sin powerless). Therefore, I am no longer enslaved to that sin nature[viii] but a slave of You, my righteousness unto sanctification.[ix]

I choose to rest[x] in the power of Jesus’ blood which has purified my conscience from all dead works.[xi] I also choose, by faith, to forgive others from my new heart, just as You have so graciously forgiven me 2000 years ago.[xii] Help me Holy Spirit to consistently appropriate, enforce and abide in Jesus’ mighty victory over all forms of Darkness[xiii] by submitting to You, resisting the devil and always overcoming evil with good[xiv] as You empower and guide me in the way I should go.[xv] Help me to stand firm in the freedom with which Christ made me free and not be under the yoke of slavery by the principle of law to any sin-pattern.[xvi] Cause me to come to full maturity and stature of the likeness of Jesus in the outer man[xvii] so that it conforms to who I already am in Him, according to Your wonderful ministry and mission for me.[xviii]
